Chapter 3

Lacey came out of her room walking down the steps. Her feet padded against the cool stone steps on her way down.

"Ahh...up a little early miss."  Annie said whipping her hands on her apron as she saw Lacey approach her.

"Yea I was hungry." She said groggily. "Where's AJ?" she asked.

"He's in the room, I think he's getting annoyed from being hungry too." She said pointing to his lifeless sleeping body on the couch with the TV glaring in his face. Lacey smiled at him.' No wait you hate him quit smiling!' she scolded to herself.

"Well tell me which outfit you like, I'm taking him out and I wanna look my best." She quickly bit her tongue for saying that. Annie sat down in a wooden chair that was at the kitchen table.Lacey snapped her fingers. A black tank top that had Rhine stones that said rock star across the front appeared with a leather black knee length skirt and calves high black boots with an ankle length leather jacket appeared on her body.

"I like that one. It's very nice on you." Annie said then gasped. "Lacey Renee where did that come from?" Annie asked pointing to her navel.

Lacey looked down and blushed. "It was a discount before I bit the tattoo artist the other night." She said laughing. Annie just rolled her eyes smiling. Lacey bit down on her tongue-thanking god she didn't realize the tongue ring she had either, besides why does she care? She has her nose pierced.

"Well go wake up Mr. McLean before he starts biting on you." Annie said.

"Oh believe me he's already tried a couple times." Lacey said mumbling. Annie laughed pulling herself up out ofthe wooden chair. Lacey walked in about to shake AJ but she thought that would be too nice. She reached over the couch to the coffee table and grabbed the newspaper. She rolled it up and whacked him across the head with it.

"Rise and shine dumbass." Lacey said crossing her arms over her chest.

"Ouch!" AJ yelled jumping up. He looked up to see lacey. A smile slowly appeared on his lips. "Combat bitch." He said yawning.

"Dickless prick." She sighed out the same way he did mocking him.

"Hey now! Don't go there!" he said standing up. She rolled her eyes again and walked away.

"I'm hungry man." He said running his fingers threw his black spiky hair.

"That's why I woke you up, were going out to eat." She said.

He looked up at her. "Oh ok can I pick the place?" he asked smiling.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine where? I can see that you'll be the types to eat on human food, not blood." she asked crossing her arms firmly across the chest.

AJ made a face. "McDonalds." He said pulling her arms away from her chest. "And please don't cover them I like lookin at them."He said grinning.

She slapped him across the back of the head. "Go get dressed before I bring out the Lorena bob Bette in me!" she yelled at him.

"Hey instead of cutting off can you blow?" he asked jokingly.

"SCREW YOU!" she yelled. AJ ran up the steps before she could get a hold of him.

"Hey babe gimme a date and I'll make sure I'm there on time!" AJ yelled from his room.

"Ugh." She sighed rolling her eyes.

15 minutes later…

AJ came bounding down the steps in a baggy pair of black jeans and a white whiffed beater with a leather jacketover top. Glasses covered his mysterious eyes and he had jewelry all over him. Lacey's jaw dropped on about how good he looked. She then looked away ' what am I thinking?' she asked herself.

"Well ready to go eat?" he asked her. She looked at him and nodded. AJ was taken aback by her not having a smart remark to throw back in his face. "Annie we are leaving now will see you at sunrise." Lacey said pulling her shades over her eyes.

"Ok honey" Annie replied. AJ and Lacey walked out towards the tunnel; they walked up the musky hallway and up to the entrance of the tomb.

"So have you thought of a date yet?" AJ asked smirking trying to break the eerie silence that thickly hung between them. She twirled around on her platform sandaled heel and began glaring at him.

"Rot in hell McLean." She mumbled then turned around walking out the entrance of the cemetery pushing the black iron gate back.

He ran up to her. "Aright look combat bitch how bout we start over? I know I've been a perverted asshole the whole time." He said.

She turned towards him rolling her eyes. No really?" She asked acting clueless. He could help but chuckled. "Apparently you just realized that?" she said snotty.

"Can we start with a clean sheet?" he pleaded.

She looked up at him seeing a grin appeared on his lips.She took one good look at him for the 2nd time since the beach. He looked so perverted and grungy. He looked like the party all night bang all day not gives a fuck type too. But as she looked closer at him he had a clean cut, innocent (wait did I just say innocent? This AJ where talking here! Ok anyways back to the story!) Side to him, his eyes where soft and beautiful and if she looked into them long enough she could get lost like a fly being tangled in a spider's web. She had to give him a try, besides she just met the guy all reality would hit him soon.

"Fine, now let's go." She said walking past him up the alley as a smile played across her lips.

He also smiled relieved and quickened his pace to join the side of her. A few moments later they got to McDonalds. "My lady." AJ said sweetly opening the door up and letting her in.

"Thank you" She replied.

They walked in dancing around the silver poles and yellow rope that felt like it lasted forever and finally getting in line.

"Hello welcome to McDonalds how may I help you?" the small brunette behind the counter asked them. AJ slid the middle of his glasses down to the tip of his nose. Maybe he could get into biting and sucking blood if it came to roaming around beautiful girls like her.AJ felt a tender grip and pull on the edge of his lips as he grazed his eyes over the girl's tender flesh of her neck. 'Stop it! That's not for eating it's for pleasure! Plus what a sick twisted idea' he cursed at himself. Lacey looked over at him strangely as he stared blank at the girl but chuckled lowly shaking her head.

"Ahh yea I'd like a # 6 with extra cheese, large coke, large fry, I want 2 things of apple pie, and ice tea, no lemon." AJ said smiling. He looked over at Lacey who was looking at him weird again, but hey nothing AJ was surprised of seeing. "What? I'm a growing boy!" he exclaimed shrugging his shoulders. "What do you want?"

"Nothing." She replied. "I'll eat later." She added.

He just shrugged his shoulders. "Ok I forgot you like the real deal." He smirked as she narrowed her icy blue eyes at him over the edge of her sunglasses.

"That will be 12.25 sir." She said.

AJ pulled the bundled up change in his pocket out and handed the lady it.

"Let's go." He grabbed the tray and went into a cream colored booth sliding into one of the sides. Lacey slid on the opposite side and sat in front of him.

"Oh god this is the real deal if ya ask me!" AJ sighed out looking dreamy at his Quarter pounder. Lacey just rolled her eyes propping her chin in her hand as her elbow rested on top of thetable.

"Ugh how can you humans eat that stuff?" she said making a face and picking up one of his fries cringing at the sight of it. "Grease, upon grease upon grease!" she said shaking her head as she placed the individual fry back into the carton.

He just smirked whipping the ketchup off his chin with a napkin. "We love to see you smile?"

Lacey asked furrowing her eyebrows as she looked at their logo. "Oh god could hell on earth get any cornier?" she mumbled. AJ left out a laugh as she began looking out at the alley trying to spot her prey for the night, hunger was tugging at her lips and the craving for her usual red liquid was becoming stronger. Suddenly AJ began to scream. Lacey jolted her head over to his direction.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

AJ reached over quickly and grabbed a napkin and whipped his tongue with it as the tears stood in the corner of his eyes.

"Damn that shit burns!" he yelled dabbing his tongue over and over again.

Lacey rolled her eyes. "Hey numb nuts, we kinda can't eat onions nor garlic, it will burn our flesh." She said grabbing the sandwich from his hands and taking a knife scrapping them off onto a clean napkin. "Here try this." she said reaching her finger into his half drunken coke and grabbed a small ice cube. "Stick out your tongue." She ordered. He stuck out his tongue at her and she sat the ice cube on to his tongue. The stinging and swelling soon wore down as a gentle smile danced upon his mouth.

"Thank you."He said grabbing the sandwich back and taking a big bite out of it.

"No problem." Lacey set her eyes back onto the scenery looking for a victim to seek out, the night was growing older and she wanted her victim to be fresh, not one she had to re open from one of her kind.Suddenly she listened as trash cans rattled behind her. A drunken southerner looking guy stumbled out of McDonalds. He looked very wasted . A smile curled upon her lips.

"Look's like that guy is wasted"AJ said laughing as he polished off the rest of his burger.

"Like they say,The more their wasted the better tasted! Besides I need my share of alcohol tonight! I'll be right back." She said pulling her self out of the booth making her way out. AJ watched her walk out and sway her hips as curiosity yet suspicion danced in his eyes. Lacey walked down the alleyway following the man stumbling over trashcans. She couldn't help but giggle as she followed keeping her pace up with his. She then got her usual plan. Seductive siren Annie would always title it as.

"Hey babe." He said as she pretended to pass by. She turned around smirking. She licked her lips fiercely and swayed her hips as she approached him. The hunger burnt in her eyes as she watched her prey stumble and act wild in front of her.

"Why hello." She said with a seductive grin on her face.

He just smiled. "Wanna have some fun?" he asked her being very blunt.

She walked over slowly. "I would love to." she said curling her pinkish pouty lips in a smile as she licked at them again.

"How bout my place?" He stuttered trying his best to keep his balance.

"How bout we be wild and do it just right here?" she said as her eyes began to glow with redness.

The guy looked ather weird. "What the hell are you?" he asked. She grabbed him by the throat drawing him into her. Her fangs grew out and she sunk them into his neck digging fiercely into his main vien. He moaned out in agony as she sucked the red substance from him. After she was full she dropped his body carelessly onto the street and whipped her mouth with the back of her hand and then onto a tissue throwing it over her shoulder. She opened her compact to make sure she had no trace of blood what so ever then closed it with a single snap and smiled.

"Pleasure doing business with you. " she whispered in his ear smiling. She then walked down the alley and back into McDonalds.

"How was it?" AJ asked finished and slurping at his drink.

"Good,I might have a hang over by tomorrow ugh that guy DRANK." She said as a smile appeared across her face.  AJ just nodded his head laughing as he got up dumping his trash in the trashcan and putting the tray on top of it.

"C'mon beautiful." He said nodding towards the door as she got up and stood beside him. she stopped for asecond listening carefully.

"Oh I like this song." Lacey said as she walked up behind him. AJ stopped and listened.

Oh it's O-Town." AJ saidsmiling. "I wanna go all night aint no stoppin till the breaking of the dawn..." AJ began singing in a goofyvoice. Lacey smiled pushing him a little bit.

"Boy would I love to take a bite out of the one with dreadlocks." Lacey said laughing as she licked her lips.

"Puhlease girlfriend! Jacob?" AJ said smiling as he rolled his eyes. "I want Ashley Angel." AJ said batting his eyes and walking and talking like a girl. Lacey busted into laughter as they stumbled out of the restaurant. "So you listen to music huh?" he asked as they walked down the dark streets.

She nodded her head. "Yea, I like all kinds." She smiled." AJ you have to realize where not about staying under ground then coming up at night and just sucking blood. We do other things too, I get around I watch MTV and VH1 when it's in the window of music stores." She laughed.  

AJ nodded his head. "Sorry... he replied simply smiling sheepishly. "But I do too, I use to be in a group." He sighed out as the guys came to mind and tried not to let the tears blur his vision. He missed his best friend Howie, he missed Kevin's father like bitchy mood that he use to always throw at him when he did something bad, he missed Brian's small talk and goofiness and the pranks they use to play on their boy Nicky.

"Really? What was the group called?" she asked.

"The back street Boys." He sighed again. "I loved it so much." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh I've heard of you guys! You have wonderful music. I've always wondered why you looked so familiar." She said smiling.

"Wow, never knew a vampire was a fan." He said chuckling.

"Yeah,well I never knew I had the chance to spend eternity with one!" she joked. He laughed slightly. "Speaking of the group,the one with the sandy blonde hair and the pure blonde are quiet the hotties!" she said smiling.

AJ just smiled. "Those are my boys Brian & Nick. They where always up to something!" he laughed. She just nodded in response with a smile.

An odd eerie silence fell upon them as they walked back threw the graveyard. As they approached there rooms AJ looked at her.

"Well thanks for taking me out tonight" He said smiling as he kissed her cheek.

She pulled away shocked alittle bit but smiled to cover up her blushing. "Oh no problem, well goodnight." She said as she walked in her room shutting the door.

"Night." AJ said walking to his.

She then turned around. "Oh and AJ..." she began.

"Yeah?"

"It's nice to finally get to know the real you." She said smiling.

He smiled in response nodding. "Same here doll face,same here" He said as she stepped into her room. He sighed watching till she was gone then retrieved into his.
