Chapter 14
“Hey Nick, Cindy came back, she is up in the guest room.” Leslie said to her older brother as he walked in with Aaron.
“Ok, thanks Les.” Nick said dashing up the steps.
“Welcome.”
“Hey Cindy.” Nick said looking into the guest room.
“Hi Nick, how was lunch?”
“Good, did you get your stuff alright?”
“Ya”
“Good, so what are you doing tomorrow?”
“Oh, I have to go see the doctor for…”
“Oh ok, I was gonna invite you to go shopping with BJ, Leslie and Angel.”
“Oh, I can go, my appointment is at 3, so I got time.”
“Ok, I’ll tell the girls. I’m gonna order pizza, what do you want on it?”
“Oh um…just cheese.”
“Great!” Nick said running down stairs to call the pizza guy.
Chapter 15
“Hello, I’m Cindy Watson. I’m here for my appointment with Dr. Scott.” Cindy said walking into Dr. Scott’s office.
“Ok Miss Watson, you can sit over there and we will call you when the doctor can take you.” The receptionist told Cindy.
“Thank you.” Cindy said picking up a book which read, 1000 NAMES TO NAME YOUR NEWBORN. Cindy opened the book and scanned through it.
“Cindy Watson…the doctor is ready to see you.” The receptionist told Cindy.
“Ok…”
“Hello Miss Watson, how are you today?” Dr. Scott said walking into his office where Cindy was waiting.
“Good Dr. Scott. You?”
“Very well…so today we will be taking your baby’s first picture. Is the father here?”
“Um…No, he is on a trip and also I wanted to ask you about something.”
“Sure Miss Watson, what is it?”
“Well, I am not sure who is the father of my baby, can you give me any information on paternity tests.”
“Sure Miss Watson, here are a few pamphlets about it, may I ask who you think is the father but not sure?”
“Well my boyfriend and I have been together for over a year but about a few weeks ago we got into a huge fight and I got drunk and I guess you know what happened after that.”
“Ok Miss, so shall we go get that picture taken or what?”
“Ok…” Cindy said standing up and walking out the door of Dr. Scott’s office and into a small room where a nurse was standing beside an ultrasound machine.
“Nurse, Miss Watson is here for her baby’s first picture can you help her out.” Dr. Scott said exiting the room.
“Yes Doctor. Miss Watson if you sit on this bed we can start.”
During the whole time Cindy’s head was rushing with the man’s face that could be her baby's father. She had some idea of who he was but she was drunk that night so she might not be totally right. She tried to remember his name, Cody. He was 26 and he lived in Utah. Other than that that was she could think of.
“Miss Watson, here is the head and here are the feet.” The nurse said interrupting her thoughts.
“oh…thank you nurse.”
“No thanks intended, it’s my job.” The nurse said taking the monitors of Cindy’s stomach.
Cindy rubbed her stomach and said, ‘I am so sorry.’
