Chapter 5

"No wait Aj, we can't do this" Nicole said sitting up and fixing her shirt.

AJ nodded while sitting up, "sorry"

"naw, it was my fault" she said standing up.

"maybe I should go."

"No, don't go. We can just go watch a movie or something"

"Ok" Aj said as he stood up with her and walked down the stairs,"where'd Jessica go?"

"She's probably getting fucked by those two guys in her room" Nicole said looking through the movies.

Aj laughed slightly, "so does she do that a lot?"

"Yea, she's a huge slut."

"I thought you guys were friends."

"We are, she's my best friend, but I'm just telling the truth. Anyway, she knows what she is"

"oh...does she have a job?"

"yup, she's a stripper"

"She is?"

"Yup, she makes a lot of money too."

"Do you have a job?" Aj asked

"Yea, I'm a waitress, I mean I don't really need the money, but I feel better if I'm doing something. Cause you know there are so many people struggling to go to collage and I don't have to worry about money."

"So are your parents really well off?"

"They're dead" She said softly

"I'm Sorry, I didn't know"

"I know you didn't. They died my freshman year of Highschool in a plane crash. It was pretty weird though, because my brother and I were supposed to go, but since it was the end of the year, we both had finals so we stayed behind."

"Wow, that's ironic" Aj said

"Yea, but anyway, both of my parents were surgens so my brother and I went to private schools and stuff. So we still have a lot of money from the life insurance and stuff since they left everything to us."

"Who took care of you after they died?"

"Well, my brother was a senior, so after he graduated, he was 18 so he begged the court to let me stay with him and not go to family, so he got me"

"That's pretty cool, does he live in Orlando?"

"No, he goes to NYU"

"Are you two close?" Aj Asked as Nicole sat down next to him

"Yup, we're really close"

AJ nodded, "So what do you study?"

"I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Theater Arts"

"that's pretty tight. I used to do a lot of Drama before I joined the Backstreet Boys."

"Really? Where?"

"Just the Orlando Community Theater"

"Really? Oh my god. I went there too, did you go by AJ then?"

"Nope, Alex McLean"

"Ahhh! I so remember you! Remember it was me and like two other girls there and we all got in trouble cause you boys pulled us in the mud!"

"That was you?" AJ laughed

"Yup, remember when we did Guys and Dolls? I played your wife and we did that duet"

"wow, it's a small world"Aj nodded, "well, I'm thinking that fate brought us together again"

"yea?" She asked looking him in his eyes

"Yep, so you thinking about giving me a chance?"

"no" she smiled

"let me ask you this, who was your last boyfriend?"

"Ryan"She said softly

"Ryan? how long were ya'll together?"

"three years"

"well what happened?"

"We got together Senior year and we were prom king and queen. Anyway we came here together and during the summer between Freshman and Sophomore year at FSU, he told me that we were getting too serious and he thought we should just be friends. Then not long after, he asked my friend Lisa out and a couple months later they got engaged. SO that's that"

"Thats so bad. I'm sorry"

"don't be"

"So that's why you wont let yourself get close to a guy?"

"yup"

"but I'm not like that. I really like you Nicole."

"Aj, look, maybe things will change, but I'm not gonna make any promises ok?"

He nodded while turning his head back to the movie which had already started.
